Milesgården 31/10/14

Went to this museum on the Lidingö island and was pretty pleased with this visit (better than Vasa, in my opinion).

Started off with the temporary exhibition on Pompeii and really learnt a lot about the history of that era (where slaves can become rich and even marry their masters!); been hearing a lot about this place (mostly because of Bastille's song) and I've even heard of the mountain that destroyed this city (Mt Vesuvius) in my geography classes (and Plinian eruptions actually came from this incident cos the person who reported/described it was called Pliny)!

Anyway, went out to outdoor permanent exhibition of Carl Milles' structures (whom this place is named after). Poseidon, Flying Angels, Pegasus, etc etc, and look, even their wild boar looks kinda lusty:

Didn't really take any photos so just one with me chilling with ma bro.

The place also exhibited the sculptor and his artist wife's living places and other half-done works (Zeus without a penis, Aphrodite without head.... Well, the penises are all really kinda small so... And one of the girls actually pointed out: how do they even know who that body without head belongs to? The gods have a standard measurements???)

Caught the sun set (before 4pm) and left for dinner and stay over!
