Revote/Revolt

I disagree with him as well.

Yes, he's not the best. But he's the best available...

Not matter what, it's finalized and all we can do now is to stand behind and beside him. And hope.

Time capsule!!!

How cool... To have a time capsule in your hall!

And some seniors actually put wine inside! LOLOL

Busyyyyy

But we're only Human

I don't like how things are being dealt with; but just as I don't like the haze or the plane to be missing or the climate of Singapore, there're many things we don't like that just doesn't go the way we want it.

I don't like this system of meritocracy; I don't like how it makes us all blind to the humanity.

"Congrats you're in NUS, and congrats for getting to stay in hall cos you have enough hall points.

F*ck you ITE students you didn't do enough to come here so you'll suffer, and f*ck you whoever-doesn't-have-enough-points you didn't do enough for you to stay so please leave"

--

Yes, meritocracy sucks; and yes, it was meritocracy that brought me here where I am today; and yes, I don't think there's a better system.

No, ITE students are not to be blamed; and no, it's not your fault you don't have enough points to stay. Or maybe you do, but the root problem lies in the system; there're bound to be winners and losers in this system, no matter how hard all of us try.

And there's nothing wrong with being on the losing end, really. But I hate it, when the winners blame everything on the losers as though we have never tasted defeat before.

And yes, the sad truth about Singapore today, and especially true among my groups of friends here in NUS, is that we have rarely lost... We are too used to be the winner that we don't see why the losers lose. Forget that we are naturally endowed with the undeserved; forget that we are the more-fortunate; forget that it's not a level playing field...

In the eyes of the winners, losers are just what they are: losers; never a fellow human being.

And this is true anywhere, and everywhere......

'dem English

So this thing came about to cause a major confusion... But all's well, I guess

Bipolar bear

I swear my previous few posts were written before I went to peek at your streaks of life. But it's not like the first time coincidence happened between us.

It's uncanny how here I am being highly self-confident of what I wanna achieve and there you are doubting your ability to... be yourself (?!)

Hahah and I can assure you that you're doing a good job there for that role of being yourself (if there's even a way for you to fail at being YOU)

And studying philosophy long enough made me capable of saying this: an important part of you, being the you that I know, is not knowing yourself (KK Principle, omg). This part we can work on.

But now this part is compelling (at least to me): studying you long enough made me capable of saying this, "an important part of you, now, is having me knowing you"

So fear not, even if you start doubting yourself, know that someone not too far away never does!

Highly intellectual flirting, smooth eh? 😉

I hated running

And I still do. But I just did another 3am run... And I suddenly don't hate it anymore. Every single time.

At the end of the day, we all know it's just the process we dread; and how we deal with this lethargy is really what separates success and failure, you and me.

--

Come to think of it, I'm still loving what I've signed up for

And I'm sure I'll start missing it once the term comes to an end (which is, sadly, near enough to be uncomfortable)

Zen

I feel a sense of peace when I'm studying. It's the least of my worries now. I don't even know why... But I know I'm gonna get everything done and eventually score well for finals. This, I know.

And it's for all you selfish fkers.

But nah. It's really just for myself.

For the first time

Cos we can fuck our grades and give up our sleep; this is all that matters in life

Notes and flowers!

Backstage pass (MY BIRTHDAY NUMBER YO!)

"LYLCs"

And the item that really taught me so damn much. If you would let me choose again knowing this is how it'll end... I'll make that fall again; commit those mistakes; give up studying for my quiz; and do it all over.

And yes, the most important one. 'Nuff said, but thanks for being my number one supporter ^^

Granny

Speedy recovery, ah ma!

Selfie with Cousin Fredrick while still in hospital!

Plucking long beans, preparing for lunch at Uncle Vincent's place...

Cousin Weizhong pushing her on the wheelchair for a stroll in the park, an idea which she's been uncomfortable with previously

Precious photo

All photos are precious, b'cos someday, someone or something or some place in the photo will be gone.

Some, will be gone sooner than they should...

So my brother got a new "potato"

And it fell sick...

Cousins are the first friends you'll ever have...

Things would have been different if you were around, my friend.
