Auckland 23/6/16

Next morning we zoom down to Britz to return our van but a normally 1 hour journey took almost 2 hours cos of the morning traffic; good thing we took that into consideration and left earlier.

Into Auckland and one last time with our trusty camper HDF and TomTom!

Returning of camper was also rather easy since we purchased all sort of express package as well as the ease of mind insurance; turns out the glass we broke was covered by the liability reduction clause as well! So all is well indeed. After some showering, we took the transfer available to the airport...

And in the airport, we had our last meal together in New Zealand at the Down Under Cafe, serving acceptable food but nothing extraordinary. And after brunch, it was time to part ways.

Definitely not worth it

Said our goodbyes and Qingying and I called for our rental company's transfer to pick up our car. Swapped the huge campervan for a small sports edition Toyota Corolla; suddenly the view was more obstructed but the accelerator and brakes were 10 times more effective and responsive.

Vroom vroom!

Took some getting used to but wasn't that difficult once we left for the motorway. Long-awaited sun that took over the heavy rain made life easier. And so we got back to State Highway 1 and went down south once again, before turning off to the east towards the Coromandel Peninsular.
